Alannah describes life at the Oasis Beach.
Today we are spending today at the Oasis Beach Hotel as we are acclimatising to the environment. It is incredibly hot and sticky here and many of us are struggling to get used to the heat and to quote James Paus 'I am currently sweating like a pig.' But don't worry we are all drinking lots of water like we are being told to. Here Emma,Chelsea and I are writing in our journals about our day like the good little girls we are! We have been shopping and many if us have have bought traditional Sri Lankan trousers which are very bright and incredibly comfy.
Many of us have taken walks along the beach taking in the scenery. However Chelsea was complaining that the sand was too hard for her delicate feet.
The boys have been playing football on the beach and some of the locals have joined in. The boys managed to beat the Sri Lankans!
Ethan and Will enjoying a stroll along the beach-taking a break from football.
This morning we woke up to the view of locals doing Karate on the beach while we sat on the balcony eating our breakfast. There were a range of ages involved in the class from young boys to elder males.
Katie and Faye are enjoying their breakfast and I believe they ordered cheese toasties.
Becky and Natacha enjoying their breakfast which consisted of toast, eggs and fruit juice. I found it quite interesting how syrup was one of the options to spread, or more like drip, onto your toast. The food is suprisingly okay over here, I wasn't sure what to expect.
Here is the sun setting on Sri Lanka- what a beautiful view. We are all having a lovely time and getting used to the heat. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we are eager to explore more of Sri Lanka.
Just a quick note to say, Hey Mum and Dad, hope the move went okay, love you lots xx
